Who are we?
“If you talk to a person in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.” – Nelson Mandela
We are a group of more than 100 volunteers who came together to realised the need to fight the COVID-19 pandemic by making authentic information accessible and stop spreading misinformation.
We try to bring awareness, transparency and accountability to the information by

C. Making it to reach to the people in the language they understand

What is our mission?
Our mission to make authorized information related to the COVID-19 pandemic available to everyone in our country. We want to empower our masses who are linguistically and culturally diverse.
We want to support various Government of India & Global agencies authorized to publish information related to COVID-19 by providing them capacity support for translation to Indian vernacular languages.
We also want to support various Government of India & Global agencies authorised to publish information related to COVID-19 by helping them to disseminate it to the masses.
What are our guiding principles?
We are guided by zeal to be a SETU to bridge the linguistic gap in authentic information by showcasing DISHA (or direction) for accessible information
How do we work?
We take material from sources where people sharing these articles/posters are authorized by the respective source organisations.
This material has to be shared from their official email id (if possible) on our core team member’s email id.
We internally look at the bandwidth and take up the next set of activities depending upon our own priorities and availability of the volunteers.
We revert back with our confirmation mail for the same.
We have our own workflows for task-tracking/assignments among our volunteers.
Once translated, we proof-read it at our level and then, share it back with the original source.
Any feedback or changes received from the source are incorporated and sent back.
At the end of the activity, an acknowledgment mail and just few words of appreciation keep us going 🙂
We have a volunteer web-page(http://projectsetu.in) and would just like to mention our activities done for your organisation and seek permission to mention your organisation name in it.
Neither we solicit on behalf of nor offer any money for these activities to our volunteers or coordinators; all of them are wilfully working for this noble cause
